    Slick roads...

I live in Kingsport and work in Johnson City. Everyone be careful. They are very slick.

Reports of power out in Dryden and Pennington, not sure about anywhere else. I've got power for now but still a lot of ice hanging on trees and power lines, I can still hear trees popping all around us.

    Re: Slick roads...

Not sure of the exact extent here, just spoke to a couple of family members who were without power and talking about some others. Beleive some roads were blocked due to downed trees not sure on updates there. Good things the temps are still trying to rise. Its 37 in Wise, but they're at a higher elevation, its as you get lower in elevation where you see the problem, for example its 33 at the Tri-Cities airport...which was the expected with the low level cold air hanging on near the surface hard to push out of the valleys. Down in Knoxville temp is up in the 50s and I see mid to upper 30s across southern KY, still only 32 in Hazard though. Thing is too, the air temp might be 33-34 but the temps at ground level may still be at or below freezing which will result in the freezing rain. Temps will fall back down below freezing in the area after the cold front passes through, so be aware of that as we could see some more snow/sleet/freezing rain if there's any moisture still left behind.

We still have power here in Coeburn, thankfully. I definitely feel blessed after what it was like last year, and it sucks that so many in Kingsport are once again without power.
